With the growing number of #COVID19 clusters in migrant worker dormitories, 7 dorms as of April 12 have been gazetted as isolation areas under Singapore’s Infectious Diseases Act.
On April 5, S11 Dormitory @Punggol and Westlite Toh Guan became the first two dorms where nearly 20,000 residents have been put under a 28- day quarantine. Residents must stay confined to their rooms – leading to boredom for some, and anxiety for others, as #CNAInsider found out by Zooming with several of them over the days.

Their needs are being looked to by an inter-agency task force comprising the Ministry of Health, National Environment Agency, the Singapore Armed Forces, the Home Team, and the Migrant Workers’ Centre; and by various welfare groups. More than 630 confirmed coronavirus cases have been linked to dormitary and construction clusters, as of April 11.

From My daily view, I still see many foreigners not wearing mask. Cyclist, joggers, shoppers, there are also places where 1 metre rule is not practised. Time for the government to start to fine these people… Cannot be one group with mask trying to protect the rest by practising personal hygiene and the other group not practising rules brought forward for everyone’s safety. Location to look at Mohamed Sultan, Stangee, Upper East Coast, Holland Road, Hillview. These are only a few areas… The solution to this problem can be rapidly enhanced by The government allowing those who can be on the roads to be their eyes and help in educating the people who cannot even follow simple rules…
Be safe, stay strong and positive, look after each other, give mental support to one another. Thank you all for the efforts. Also, thank you Singapore government and dormitory operators for doing the best.
2 years in SIngapore.. your “lah” is perfect😂. Keep strong and keep healthy. My prayers is with you brothers.
Australia recorded 33 new cases in last 24/hours
Singapore recorded 233 new Chase added to total 2532.
Singapore leaders had failed and were badly defeated.
Lucky the Govt and most people dont think like you…are you declaring defeat before the war is over? Read the news around the world how their government and people are struggling to fight the pandemic. Be grateful you are in Singapore
I thought it was about how prisoners where dealing with the corona virus 🦠 Then I double checked and it’s workers. I was 🤔 how they got cell phones 📱 lol 😂 well duh 🙄 their workers….looks like a prison . Dang
Thank you, to the CNA team who put this together, to the workers who helped built our nation, to the people who care about these workers and treat them as one of us… Thank you all.
Wish they weren’t so sardined in and having to share baths/kitchens. If one in a pod is infected, the others will, too. At least, govt is giving food and essentials and taking sick ones to hospital. PM Lee is an effective, compassionate leader. Wish there were more like him around the world.
The worker at the end said “Who do we blame? You can’t blame anybody”. Totally agree with what he said. Unlike some of the people I came across online and offline, still possess “blame this, blame that, blame others” attitude, taking things for granted as if the society, the govt, etc., owe them a living. I hope this crisis also teach people moral & civic education, not just personal hygiene.
To all the workers in the dorm. Try to stay calm, Singapore government will try their best to help u guys, just put on your mask and wash your hands many times a day. I will pray for u guys…. Take good care bros
rip army no wifi lol
Today, 2532 confirmed cases is pitting everyone in danger of contracting COVID19.
This shows PM Lee and his taskforce strategy after more than 3 months, is not working.
As parents, we are fearful for our children.
Thank you Singapore Govt! 👍
They’ve done so much for Singapore. Stay strong guys, we will get through this 💪🏻
Some say that Singapore is led by an authoritarian government (perhaps by a regime). But this government, with its authority ensures that no human rights is neglected. Of course there are more rooms for improvement, but even so, perhaps this is the best that the people of our time can get. Majulah Singapura.
Thank you , Singapore is doing it’s best during this crisis , we will pray , may Allah end this pandemic ASAP and insha Allah he will reward humanity with a peaceful world without this crisis very soon
4:00 Lol his ‘lah’, localised already ahhahaha
TOTAL DEFENCE .
So touchy
Thank you PM Lee
Think only SG did all these for foreign workers… This is what we call a civilised country and responsible Gov .
Good photojournalism
Have a newfound appreciation for their efforts at staying calm despite being in a foreign place, their willingness to cooperate, on top of all the things they’ve done to help build SG. Also, thank you to the SG govt for caring for them! We will all pray for this calamity to be over soon so that everyone can stay safe and happy again.
Hope everyone is safe and those tested positive recover after their treatment.
Compare this how the Malay gomen in Malaysia is treating the foreign workers?
Very sad situation, these “workers” are modern day slaves used by the wealthy to build their tall ivy towers and discarded when they are no longer of use to the wealthy elite.
Thank you Singapore Govt. How you are managing the people it’s really appreciated..💞🙏
Appreciate the video CNA, it’s comforting to see that we are mitigating the situation. I would also encourage everyone to READ the article that’s in the description for a better understanding of the issue. Cheers.
thank god because i going back vietnam before lockdown
All of them should be sent back to their own country!
Is every one new normal ; Stay safe -from Malaysia-
It is very moving to see the prime minister acknowledging the hard work of foreign workers. He didn’t just acknowledge the current workers, but the generations before as well. That is one thing every nation should learn.
Slavery..and this stupid ignorant world praised sing haha
PM said that he would appreciate the contribution of workers and promised their family that government will take care of them and yet they have put healthy people under car park and HDB void decks when millions of hotel rooms are empty. While I really appreciate their free meals, free sanitary supplies and free WiFi, I really expect that govt will seriously consider about their whereabouts. Instead of dumping 12 people in a single room, they would limit 3 or 4 in a room. I pray for it.!
The carpark was a temporary shelter after certain numbers of workers in their dormitories was found to be infected by Covid-19. They are preparing other places for them. We have lots of immigrant workers and lots of dormitories were affected.
This is so sad to watch but I hope all of them will be okay and speedy recovery🙏🏻
stay home, stay safe. Do your part.
I visited Singapore in 2019 and fell in love with the city. My heart goes out for each & everyone and hope the world recovers soon from COVID-19. In my SPECIAL TRAVEL VLOGS on SINGAPORE you can check how this city looked before coronavirus pandemic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJVEmXorCUU&list=PLPtQW2bc0IBlYmgdCpRN4ikA9t54wJXKi&index=3&t=12s
This is heartbreaking i hope they overcome
I feel like he is one of us when he use “lah” in a sentence.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😟😟😟😷😷😷❤️❤️❤️❤️
To the people that contributed so much to our society. Big Thank You to All of You & Please stay safe!
Our country needs them. Their families need them. Thank you guys!!!
I am Very simply answer brothers dont worry about this covin19 just follow government instructions and safety measures. i am surely telling everybody . government will take care everyone . you are staying in Singapore safety country must remember here
This video make me cried!😭😭 sometimes i can feel in their position. We just hoping to Almighty god to ended covid19. Ameen ya Allah 🙏🏻
they should clean at all times..
What was the final test results of Pugal’s room mate? Was pugal tested too? Would appreciate the update. Thanks for this video.
His room-mate tested positive. When we checked with Pugal on Sunday morning, he told us he was still feeling fine. We’ll post further updates.
LHL,you are the best
It’s not too bad…
Thank you Singapore and Singapore government for really taking care of us. Each act are implemented and executed at its best and definitely we’re about to come over this virus! Majulah Singapura! 🇸🇬
We can hopefully come over this real soon. Thank you to those enduring souls out there as well as to our government officials, army officials, front line workers and the citizens who are praying very hard for covid to end. We can all come through this. Stay strong you all! Stay healthy and safe! We all can come out of this! God bless! ✨
thank you @ sg government for taking care of our foreign workers! stay strong and we’ll get through this as one 🙂
Cried while watching this. These are the hardworking, innocent workers who would do exactly as we dictate. Nothing more, nothing less. They work the hardest, they earn the least. Just because they were not lucky to be born in Singapore. May God bless them and our Singapore. Stay strong, my little brothers.
Very scary
I am really worried for these foreign workers, but now….l feel better. Please take good care of them.
Too hard to believe. Sometimes i wonder if this is a fake video?? But, i surely hope this is all Real. God bless. Peace
The Kingdom of Lee must come to an end. These corrupt lying bastards and the sham government they run is draconian, incompetent and illegal.
Well done Singapore. I hope other countries also do their part to take care of migrant workers.
The real story is Singapore’s guest worker program itself. What a sham.
I don’t even know them and i want to comfort them😭
if all government in the world is like singapore there will always be lucky foreign workers… i am not working in singapore but i visited it thrice… singaporeans are the nicest people so trusting and very kind… i love singapore so much…
Sings have some strange uses of the English language. But their draconian politics and social policies are far more confusing unless you understand Singapore Inc.
how poor thing we are all the essential services becomes hotspot because of selfish ppl
Stay Strong, we heal as one. Anyone is one of us while you are here in Singapore, all included from tourist , residents, citizens to workers. We take care of each other here in Singapore . Keep safe and healthy always.
We have to take care of them. Besides building almost everything in Singapore, we are fellow humans.
I wished my country know how to organised things like Singapore’s Gov does. These workers are very lucky being isolated but also being take good care by Singapore’s Gov.
Hope Pugal remains optimistic and is safe from covid-19. Do keep us posted on how is he 🙂 Thank you for the insightful video!
Very moving and I really feel for those guys. But this video is also a piece of soft propaganda by CNA for the SG government. Those workers should never be in those cramped conditions to begin with and it’s no doubt very awkward the spotlight has been turned onto a demographic in SG that has largely remained unseen and seldom reported on until now.
Emile : You know Singapore has little land, we are a small country. If you compare this in Hong Kong the living conditions there are much worst one of the main reasons they got protests there since last year.
I hope all of them is fine..
Kudos to all of them! Without them where are all of our buildings, highways, MRT and even more
No Have A Choice Because Of Corona Deadly Virus. You Have To Stay In Door. If You Feel Sore Throat + Fever Go Hospital. Spray Dettol Around Your Place To Prevent Virus Infection.

Then drink the water.
Don’t worry and don’t lose hope, we will overcome
Scared must wears mask
Lucky to be in Singapore during this time.
Thank you singapore. This people are able to talk to their family they are blessed .
I feel lucky that I have my family with me while the migrant workers do not! Please take care of yourself and thank you CNA for sharing this amazing video. The ending, oh god is so touching. I cried.
Only staffs who work in dormitory will know who these workers behave and difficult to handle these guys. It’s not easy handling this foreign workers when come to hygiene and discipline. They are very lucky staying in singapore and yet they always complain.
Thanks for sharing! I have 0 ideas about what they are doing since they are quarantine longer than I do!
I pray that all of them are safe! They still have their families to take care >3
I am worried for them TT gosh
Should have locked down earlier. Now it’s too late. Spore scared to anger the CCP. Bad move.
Great and useful insights!
Thankful and all my respect to them TT ! Take care !!!
Workers must also do their part by cleaning up their own room. May be media should interview the dormitory operators and view the dormitory and see what hygiene standards these workers have.
its good enough for SG gov willing to take care of these foreign worker.. they should be grateful coz im pretty sure the condition will be far worse in their own country..
If you believe in karma, this is it. These people depressed the wages upsetting the wages in the job market. No one pointed a gun at your head to work in Singapore, why not show us the big houses you have? Want to earn the SGD then shut the f up and suck it up like a man and endure it.
Thanks to all of you for your contribution – sweat and blood to build our nation. Do take care and wear mask to protect yourselves.

6:43 “Who do we blame? You can’t blame anybody.” Well said!
@ymhktravel dun be shortsighted and quick to blame. no one really know the cause and blaming a country just because its the first outbreak location is too naive. why no one blame USA for h1n1?
Blame China first and foremost!
God bless all & take care
Thank you for ur kindness and being responsible for all the FW god bless TO ALL OF US.
These guys are our nation builders. Hope the govt addresses their living conditions once this crisis is over.
@Cranberry Juice Bullshit ! Their living space was a ticking time bomb waiting to explode. Covid was the detonator. When it explodes the entire population is affected given the high density on a tiny red dot. The rapid infections eats away the healthcare facalities. It has a domino effect, go figure the connections. Hopefully lessons are learnt and corrections are formulated and implemented instead of sweeping it under the carpet.
Unfortunately not everyone can stay in 5 star hotels. Maybe more regulation and health inspections should be put in place to ensure clean and comfortable living conditions but it’s all up to their contractors and employers. However, looking at their living space it looks fine. These people came to Singapore to work, not to go on vacation. Of course we want everyone to be comfortable but it simply doesn’t work that way. I am not trying to discriminate against these blue-collar workers but this is simply a reality even I had to accept.

Never forget China lied, people died, WHO now China’s bride, America and Europe got creampied.
They touch the earpiece to their mouth is unhygienic.
The assurance given by Singapore PM is so assuring. I believe if these migrant workers are in other countries, they might not get the kind of assurance that Singapore is giving. For that note, kindness and goodness will come back to Singapore in manifolds! God bless Singapore, the Antioch of Asia. God will restore what Singapore has lost brought about by this pandemic.
We are strong in this together 🙏🙏💪💪 dont lose hope guys!
Aiyoh got give alcohol hand sanitizer bo
These guys are way more responsible than most of us Singaporeans.
Yet, a lot of ugly Singaporeans treat them like dirt.
thks to gov treat them well and good.humans are equal.
The dorm is neat and liveable. The government is treating the workers very well and the food given is good too. They really have to thank the government
@Bushra Amin Compared to so many other countries, Singapore has always treated their foreign workers fairly. The plight of foreign workers in other nations is a totally different story. Really thank SG Govt for doing such a great job.
Bushra Amin but it’s much better than other countries
I don’t think they need to thank the government for basic human rights. Of course the dorms should be liveable and the food should be good. And of course they should be provided food because they aren’t allowed outside at all unlike Singaporeans. Maybe Singaporeans should be thanking them for building this country with backbreaking effort – and for monthly salaries of 480 SGD. (Chinese workers get over 1000 SGD. Source: The Straits Times)
Vacant hdb blocks? There’s video circulating that they are put at a vacant under-construction BTO MSCP.
I couldn’t be more proud to be a singaporean. The govt has done so much for us Singaporeans and the foreign workers..let’s be appreciate and hope we can get over this soon.
Thank you guys, we will take care of you guys, don’t worry
They got Macbook….
‘2 yr never see my family ‘ omg… 🙁 can you imagine.
Now then u know. Dumb SPOREAN
Some people over 10 years also never visit their own family because need to earn money n feeding to them 😣😣
Thanks to sg government for taking care us wonderfully. When we saw other countries worker situation during this critical time we feel more safe here in Singapore. Hope Allah will make our life normal soon. I told my family, don’t worry iam in singapore.
hope u stay healthy
Amin
Supporting you!
Take care!
Hi godbless you all brother
If I were in their shoes, I wouldn’t worry so much about my personal health and well-being. But I’d be worried sick about my family back in India… the situation there is dire!
Hopefully, Singapore will not forget you, I’m impressed with there PM have always loved Singapore and its people.
To the brothers of Singapore, thank you and please take care of yourselves! This crisis will be over soon. We will emerge victorious!
😥
Take care and stay safe.
This was really well put together guys. Really hope the situation in the dorms gets better over time!!
thank you for covering them and letting them speak. i think so many people lack empathy and can’t place themselves in the shoes of these workers just because they are lucky enough to be born in a better condition. and it takes a pandemic to show that we’re never that different from one another. covid-19 doesn’t discriminate. we’re all fighting similar battles, we’re all worried about our loved ones. hopefully we’ll all get better after this.
You are very fortunate to have such a good government who can provide you with good basic care. Respect
As some said wanted to leave Singapore and go home , pls consider hard , u must save $$$$ and start to think what u want to do at your hometown, if u didn’t plan properly before , now is the time to think since u are free now , have to be realistic $$$$ is important for you and your family and don’t anyhow spend , this is an advice cause your income is not sit and relax work , some are lucky not under the hot sun or rain, listen and think hard by yourself , bless u all and pray for your roommates for early recovery 💪💪💪💪💪👏👏👏👏👏
You all must be strong for yourself and your family…. Singaporean are here for you all.. don’t worry..加油。。💪💪💪
If you’d like to help the migrant workers, these are the efforts by migrant welfare groups https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1f-8Oo_JoBAGlGayAk4k9UZ4bOYFvXUZ7ChhZaAQOef4/edit?usp=drivesdk
Take care my brothers. We are all praying for you. Thank you for everything. Stay safe and stay strong!! ❤❤
free stay, free house keeping, free food, free wifi, all is well
But you will have a constant fear of getting the virus
Updates on Pugal please! sending love faith and hope to all the workers!!
CNA replied 2hr ago saying that Pugal is still doing fine now
Singapore is ok , maybe u can peep into your country , if u get this virus there I don’t know how , so don’t worry our gov don’t neglect u all
Let’s take care of each other, and we’ll get out of this together stronger than ever
I wish you all well. Take care.
I don’t know how you guys caught the CCP Virus. And I’m of course very sorry for you all because nobody likes to be sick, whether you are rich or poor! But please don’t worry so much! The government is collecting fines from Singaporeans who flout the circuit breaker rules with minimum S$300 fines. Each fine collected would be able to feed one of you guys for at least 3 to 4 weeks! You can also WhatsApp your family back home not to worry from the free WIFI in your dorms!
Thank you for serving the nation💪 without you guys we will not have hdb.
Government taking care … using our money of course. It is ok, but we demand to claim back from the dormitory operators who failed to safeguard in the first place by cramming them beyond the living capacity. After all, the operators have made billions from compromises on these health aspects.
This is how we do a proper propaganda.🤗🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬
If we as humans if we don’t learn anything after this virus is gone don’t really deserve a chance to have this planet we all call home.
Thank you for your service to Singapore. We will leave no man behind..
God. I cried at the end. If all nations treat their foreign workers like the Singapore government does, the world would be a better place. Thank you, Singapore.
Ha..ha..ha..only if u knew,only if u knew….lol
They treat u guys ok how about us the local do u think ok i dont think so dont talk much
I feel sad.. Hope this virus will end quickly….
To the workers that might be reading the comments section, thank you for your contribution to Singapore, we’re grateful and we are all rooting for you! Take good care and stay well ❤️
You do things right Singapore. Salute
Can you show us the car park used to shelter them too?
Respeccc yall workers man, stay safe
I keep hearing people saying the living conditions are bad in the dorms. But looking at it for myself, it is more spacious and have better facilities than my bunk during NS time.
Just only have themselves to blame for not keeping it tidy and de-cluttered, but no RSM to ask them stand by bed what.
But I love how all of them are so positive and YOLO-happy.
And no stand by universe and turn out 🤣
Jasper JK These dorms have been cleaned up since being gazetted as isolation areas and prepped for broadcast. I am sure there are many other dorms out there in worse conditions.
Yes they are blessed to be here, only if u knew what they really think of us singaporean n our police force.
So many times better than the cage homes in HongKong. These migrant workers are truly blessed to be in Singapore. And the assurance given by PM Lee adds value to their spirit of keeping hope alive in seeing and reuniting with their families once the pandemic is over. Soldier on, dear friends. Together with your Singaporean friends, the uphill battle can be overcome. God bless.
That’s because those online keyboard warriors and the citizens who dislike our Government like to assume the dormitory space is cramp and many workers squeeze in one small rooms. They love creating all these untrue facts and try to create discord among us all.
Prayers to all brothers who were infected. While the rest of the brothers stay safe and be well ❤
Drink more water especially green bean soup ,wear mask and take care.all the best to all of you
Thanks to all our Indian friends for being cooperative by staying in your room. Hope all are safe and that those infected will become healthy again. Good to see that govt is helping and the recipients are happy.
Kudos to CNA Insider for this video. At least now we can see that they have a better living condition than in India, albeit a little crammed. Space is limited and expensive in Singapore.
how does the foreign worker have a macbook? 1:22
@Wabbs they have installment plans too they have specific plans so that they can pay it you can see this can kind of plans in pay to home
@devil king maker but a mac?
They save their money to buy it some do ot even their off days to earn extra
Praying for these brothers’ physical and mental health. Especially those who are really close to the diagnosed ones, let peace and comfort come of them in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Play some Sudoku?
Do take care all my friends. Remember we are here for a living to our family 👪 at hometown so please appreciate the Singapore government support in our need since day 1 until now….. Million thank to the Singapore government expertly the GOOD HEART PM…. WE LOVE YOU SIR THANK. GOD BLESS YOU 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 AND ALL THE CITIZENS SIR THANK

Weight loss fan2020 it’s true come to singapore if you dont believe
@Lucas Chu nonsense
@lyhthegreat Malaysia isn’t treating foreign workers with such care Singapore provides.
they work in singapore and are still in singapore now right? what’s the difference?
Hi CNA Insider – just wondering if you know how MOM is protecting these workers. If they’re being isolated and not working, are they still being paid? Singaporeans are privileged to have our relief fund/solidarity payment, but honestly, I’d rather give up my share (it’s not much, but) for these workers if they’re not being paid well in this crisis.
@CNA Insider can u show us the car park that are shelter for them to STAY. Wonder if they are happy
If you’d like to help the workers, check out this spreadsheet of efforts by migrant worker welfare groups https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1f-8Oo_JoBAGlGayAk4k9UZ4bOYFvXUZ7ChhZaAQOef4/edit?usp=drivesdk
According to this MOM statement on Saturday: “Employers must continue to pay foreign workers in dormitories their salaries during this period…. To ensure that foreign workers receive their salaries during the Circuit Breaker, all employers with workers residing in dormitories are now required to pay salaries electronically, i.e. through General Interbank Recurring Order (GIRO) or direct bank transfer.”
https://www.mom.gov.sg/covid-19/advisory-on-salary-payment-to-foreign-workers
Li then u donate your share lor !
They are getting paid.
I feel so sad for them. I hope they are all safe and sound

Not the best..but among best of the best..
You guys do your part, when all this is over, we will rebuild this Singapore together and you guys can have a better life for yourself and your family.
@Peter Kroll My sincere thanks and respect go to EVERY SINGLE FRONTLINE WORKER (WARRIOR) for their dedication, professionalism and sacrifices made!!!!
I thought we should review current worker living policy and improve to prevent such thing happening again
@Songs & Sounds at least those who do a long service should get some form of reward when everything is over, may be shared in between the government and donations from the population. Government can match every dollar donated. I really think we must stick all together now.
Such a touching and poignant message from LSL.
LHL*
This made me cry. Keep safe and healthy brothers! Thank you PM Lee!
I have many workers in Westlite Toh Guan. I really am deeply moved by my workers good attitude in understanding the efforts of the gov.
And our SG gov really gave it 100% to rescue them and us. Thank You
Songs & Sounds I feel so sorry for my workers whom are isolated. All I can do is constantly remind them as their boss I am here for them and our gov is here for all of us.
99NEPtune99 ™ I Guess everyone is fed up with our dramatic change of lifestyle, me included, but I believe we just keep a good attitude like my migrant workers being isolated in the dorm right now, we will ride through this together. SG we can!
@99NEPtune99 ™ , Not angry at all … Sorry if I sounded so 🙂
@Songs & Sounds no need to be angry lah
@99NEPtune99 ™ , None of your freaking business!
I have so much respect for Singapore govt. (/^▽^)/
Why doesn’t my country have such a govt! (ㄒoㄒ)
Does your country have such high pay like Singapore govt
@CS Lee India. 😊
Which country u from
The thing is that the virus cut across all classes and races worldwide… nobody is really safe.
Yep but it affects the people living in dormitories more because of their poor living conditions. I am happy that after many cases were reported, they were given adequate cleansing products and their common places were cleaned and taken care of
Yes its so true, thats why we have this circuit breaker not only to help us but also others not to get infected so pls just bear a little while until things subside
Take care my Tamil brothers. greetings from Karnataka
shout out to my tamil brothers, stay strong
It is good that the Singaporean government is taking care of these foreign workers. Congratulations
Please take care. After you all have recovered, please go home to your families.
Take care brother 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
SAFETY AND PREVENTION COME FIRST. 👍👍👍👍👍🇸🇬
The ending was so touching ;(
@CNA Insider Thank you.. Waiting for the day to receive update from MOM that “0 New cases”. So that Govt will give more focus on old cases.. More challenge to MOM when new cases are increasing and tracing task.. Thanks to singapore Goverment for doing best.
All will be fine. Be confident and strong.
@CNA Insider Thanks CNA! ^^
@CNA Insider glad to hear that. You can update next week about the S11 Dorm
@CNA Insider thank you for the update!
Many people of this world are not aware that they are transiting to the mark of the beast system, or dabbatul ardh. Their national constitution will soon be replaced by the Noahide Law under the one world government that will rule the world from atop Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

Understood
These foreign workers have sacrificed much to Singapore’s economy. It is now the Govt’s turn to appreciate their services and take care of them in times of need.
@Vanessa Liau for ur info, they threw theirs rubbish not into the bin provided but at the cover even spitted on the cover.
Its a win win situation Bro. So please dont say that we owe them anything
@Cranberry Juice they can always chipped in n get supplies n cleaned up on their off days. I m not trying to b mean or heartless. But I felt so angry when I see the other clip with so many bags of rubbish outside their dorms n ppl only see the space of the dorm. Yes it is small but R we missing out something? Basic cleanliness. It is so messy inside the dorm. If they tidy up, would the dorm look better n better place to sleep?
@Vanessa Liau Although this is extremely blunt and a bit unnecessary, you can find some truth here. At the end of the day, the tidiness and cleanliness of these dormitories are in control of the workers. It may be kept clean and tidy if a) the workers have adequate supplies to do so and b) if they are willing to do it.
Actually did u guys see the videos of the dorms? Is all rubbish n junk outside. Dun say they very poor thing. They never bother to tidy or throw things, is this government fault again? This is basic knowledge of basic cleanliness. They treat their dorms the way they did back in their countries. My frd room used to rent to bangala workers, n in the end whole room bed bugs. How bad can my frd house be. She not even staying there. So dun blame ppl for not taking care of them, did they bother to take care of themselves?
Better then nothing!!! Thinking right now HOMELESS PEOPLE, REFUGESS🤔🤔🤔 May all safe.
thanks the government is helping one way or another
We are thankful for our 4g ministers for working hard. However I hope in the future they do take into consideretions citizens advice and concerns to close borders earlier and shut schools earlier and other measures we wanted to take. Now is the time to right together and unite and we will be stronger.
To be honest, as a fellow singaporean I feel that the govt has carried out all the measures perfectly. They have planned ahead and the measures they put in place come at the right time.
that dont look like a dorm… more like a prison camp to me…
@Nuntella Gold Thank God that u are not Singaporean and might be from another country so prison life might not be that bad. Prison here is just an extremely small cubicles, with the olden style toilet. Not the sitting type. Prisoners of 4 to 6 shared that room with nothing but just a cold cemented ground on it and u sleep next to that toilet which is about 5 cm away. Not even a mattress. So think again.
ever seen what the prisons in singapore looks like? u don’t even get beds….
Then how should a dorm look like then? Do you have any video link to show us what a legit dorm should look like.
You been to prison before har? How you know their dorm looks like a prison camp?
You expect each foreign worker to have their own room? Even if they share 4 to room, do you know how much land we need to use to build facilities for them? It’s 200,000 workers and not 2,000.
Ang Mo Kio has 160,000 plus population. So imagine how much land we need to house 200,000 foreign workers.
Anyway, they work around 9-10 hours a day. So half of their time are outside working and the dorm is basically for them to rest and sleep. I have been to India and Bangladesh before and I have witness their own home living condition. You know what they say? The beds are comfortable and toilet are much cleaner. They are already use to working in Singapore and compared to their own country, most of them can’t find a proper job. The foreign workers I know work and keep their money for their family back home. They really save a lot and spend very little as they said Singapore living expenses is very high. I know one foreign worker who has been working in construction line for a good 10 years. He started from the bottom with poor English. Now he is a senior manager for a big construction company. Guess what? He is happy sharing with 7 workers in the dorm as his main aim is and always to save money for his family.
There is a reason why the fence up with razor wires. Each Foreign Worker has a unique identification card when they enter their own dormitory. They are not allowed to enter another dormitory with permission. The premises is to safe guard the people living there and prevent strangers (including other foreign workers not staying there) from entering. Fencing up is to make sure they don’t climb over even if they know each other. You know they love drinking and they are not allowed to drink inside their dorms.
Plus I am sure you know why the Government prefer to place most of them at the dorm and far away from the city right? First is to make sure our HDB flats are not being misuse as they meant for Singapore citizens. Second it’s easier to trace them. Third, as some people have complain before on why are foreign workers staying in shop houses (some partition illegally).
Use a bit of common sense lar.
@Huang Jinsheng my situation wont change a thing. it is what it is
I rather stay at a prison camp with bed and lockers then at a already infected dorm. Healthwise is more important right now.
nice video I really liked it
nice video keep it up
