According to reports, “ventilators” procured by the Gujarat government for a state-run hospital to treat COVID-19 cases were found to be ‘inadequate’ causing the hospital to sound an alarm saying they needed “actual ventilators”. The promoters of the firm that supplied these devices are said to have close connections to top BJP leaders including Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. Other state governments too have placed orders for these ventilators. However, Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy later informed that the ventilators ordered by his government were being “cancelled”. (Audio in Hindi)
